Can you really call yourself 'Laird of Lochaber' if you own a square foot plot of land in Scotland?Well - not really, despite what the website says, Lochaber Highland Estates (CI) Ltd have registered 'Laird of Lochaber' as their Trademark, so even though their website says you can, if you actually did, they would be able to sue you.Think.

DON'T GET CONNED WITH SCOTTISH LAND - IT'S A TOTAL SCAM
A Big Problem with fake 'Laird' Titles is growing on Ebay. The vast majority of these supposed 'Titles' are coming from the Channel Islands, although the purported 'Land' is actually in the Scottish Highlands.

Top Gear DVD's - Buyers Beware!!!!
To anyone buying or considering purchasing a Top Gear DVD off ebay, Please be careful!
Over the years the Top Gear magazine has released promotional dvds often before he real thing comes on sale, these promotional dvd's are approx. 30 mins long instead of a couple of hours, You need to be careful as the covers of the promotional dvds are very simular and itseasy to get caught out and not get the real thing just a taster dvd.
Before buying the dvd if you are unsure ask the seller about the dvd
1) where did they purchase it from
2) whats the duration of the dvd (promotional copies are less than 1 hour long)
3) what region is the dvd (promotional copies are region 0 so they can be sold worldwide)

Lord or Laird of Lochaber Con Man selling on eBay
There is a seller on eBay that claims to 'sell' you plots of land in his garden or 'Estate' as he likes to exaggerate. However, under Scottish Law, it is actually ILLEGAL to register a plot of land that is only one square foot. Work that one out. However, do your homework and you can make up your own mind.Doubtless you have seen the press coverage of the fake Order of

THE GREAT POSTAGE RIP OFF
Hi, ever wondered why some games and dvds are listed with stupid postage costs, its because the seller is over charging you so he/she can get their ebay fees back, a seller does not pay a fee on their postage and they are conning you out of more money.A typical dvd or xbox/playstation/nintendo game packaged in a jiffy bag costs 70pence to post, so take into account the jiffy bag and your talking a total cost of 85pence maximum.DONT GET RIPPED OFF AVOID LISTINGS WITH HIGH POSTAGE FEES, BY DOING THIS YOU WILL FORCE THEM TO BRING THE POSTAGE COSTS DOWN !!

What is Anime?
What is Anime?
Anime is the Japanese shortened word for 'animation'.
In Japan, 'anime' would be any animated production, from Disney to Legend of the Overfiend. Anything that is animated, be it Japanese, English or French. Outside Japan, though, 'anime' tends to refer, specifically, to Japanese animation.
In Japan, anime is a rather popular form of entertainment. It comes in the form of tv shows, movies at the cinema as well as direct to video releases (OVA - Original Video Animation). Unlike in the west, anime has a huge variety of genres - it is not only for children. Nor, on the other hand, is it just sex and violence for adults! Anime is for everybody!
Most of the time, anime comes from a manga - Japanese comics. Occasionally, though, you'll get an anime first, and the manga will follow... but as a general rule, anime comes from a popular manga series. The manga are sold in anthologies, either weekly or monthly, and have a huge number of readers! Even more, if you consider that these anthologies are read once, and left on the train (often by businessmen and office ladies on their way to work - manga, you see, doesn't have the same stigma as comics tend to have in the west) for someone else to read. (They are cheap throw-away items - the Japanese version of graphic novels follow, and these are more likely to be collected.) As with anime, manga comes in many genres for all age groups - manga for businessmen, women, boys, girls, romance, fashion, adult titles, sports and more. It's a huge industry in Japan, and very, very popular.
Anime for children would include Pokemon, Minky Momo ('Gigi' in English), Dragon Ball, Card Captor Sakura and Sailor Moon. If you see the original versions, you'll probably notice there is a lot that has been edited for the western releases. From the anime I have seen, the Japanese version do not try to protect children from death - it actually happens in anime. For instance, in Sailor Moon, the senshi (scouts) die in the end of the first season. (In the American version, they were 'trapped' but got away.) This is not to say that Japanese children are happy with the concept of death - it's just that it is not a 'no-no' topic for even children's anime.
Anime for teenagers would include Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura (Lum), Marmalade Boy and Fushigi Yugi. Again, the 'no-no' subjects of the west are found in these anime. Fushigi Yugi introduces subjects like rape, and Ranma 1/2 has some nudity (though this is definitely not porn - the nudity is mostly kept to places like the bathroom, or as a laugh when the male Ranma changes into a woman and he's still acting like a male.) The different values tend to clash - if this sort of anime was to be put on television, it would probably only make it to pay tv (cable), or on a foreign language channel. But one can hope...!!!
There are also a multitude of anime for young adults and adults - Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Beebop, Dirty Pair (not what you think!!), Dragon Half, Evangelion, DNA^2, Maison Ikkoku, Legend of the Overfiend, Dark City, Gundam, and Mononoke-hime to name a few. A number of these probably fit into the teenage category, as some of them tend to be fine for all ages.
These anime mentioned above are ones that are (or have been) popular in the west, not only in Japan. There are anime in all genres - romance, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, hentai (erotic anime), drama, action... just about any genre you find in the west, you'll find in anime! As you can clearly see, anime is not just for children!
An unfortunate part of the western mindset is that animation is for children. Parents will sometimes go to a video shop, and pick up Overfiend (tentacled monsters raping women, for a start!) for their kids to watch. Why? Because it's animated. They don't look at the rating, nor read the back cover. And so there are some groups of people totally against anime for this reason.
There is also the sad fact that certain companies put out anime that is only violence and sex related! Manga Video, unfortunately, projects the image that all anime is sex and guns. True, they put out Ghost in the Shell and, in the US, anime like Maris the Chojo ('The Supergal'), Firetripper and the Laughing Target... but most of their videos are Overfiend-like, and that is how they market the anime to the population. I think it's self destructive, but they obviously make money that way.
Recently, though, the foreign movie channel here (SBS) has been showing anime... dubbed, because that's what the Australian anime sellers have been giving them, but anime none the less! Most of the films, though, were Manga Video movies, but they have been showing Patlabour, Porco Rosso and the tv series of Evangelion. It was great to see Eva on regular tv! It's a step in the right direction - anime on tv, uncut and uncensored! (When showing things on tv, the American censors cut out or edit some of the silliest things, IMO!)
Anime is growing in popularity, down here. I hope it continues, and one day, we might see subtitled anime on SBS, and regular anime showings on the commercial networks!
Never seen anime? Go out, find an anime club near you. Find a video store with anime! Pick a genre you like, and ask for an anime in that genre! Watch, and enjoy!

WATERSHIP DONE! A Tale of Piracy (DVD)
I purchased a copy of Watership Down on DVD from Ebay last week, and I'm very upset. Not because the rabbits die, but because t's a pirate copy. It was bought as a present. I signed into Ebay, found a Buy It Now listing about to end, so bought it. The price was around what I'd normally pay for a DVD. When it arrived, it was obviously a copy. How coud I tell?
the inlay card, normally printed on glossy card, was printed on normal paper. There was also no hologram.
the label on the DVD was so blurry I thought I'd left my glasses off.
the disc itself was purple, the same colour as blank DVD roms I'd purchased recently
the small print on the back of the box said "Not for rental or retail in USA or Canada (Region 1), while he listing said it was Region 2
Of course, there was no way I could have known any of this before it arrived. Further investigation of the seller showed:
his high star rating of 290 hid the fact that he had received 13 negative feedbacks, and around 20 neutrals.
4 of the negative feedbacks were in the last month
his feedback is kept private, so you can't read what other buyers have said about him
the copy I bought was one of six he was selling
he currently has 22 items for sale on Ebay. All are DVDs (including more copies of Watership Down)
in August, he changed his Ebay User ID. Why?? Had his previous ID become well known for copies?
If only I had checked the seller properly. I emailed him through Ebay, asking for his comments. He didn't even argue that it wasn't a copy, and immediately offered a refund. But why was this item for sale in the first place? I have reported it, and hope action will be taken. But what it to stop the seller simply setting up a new account and continuing his sale of copied movies.
I have bought many DVDs from Ebay in the past, with no problems whatsoever. I shall continue to buy in the future, but am

BEWARE OF OF SELLERS WITH HIGH AMOUNTS OF FEEDBACK!
After experiencing an appalling transaction with an experienced powerseller with over 16,000 positive feedback , I thought that I should share this information. The percentage of feedback that any seller has can be deceiving and it should be advised that no matter how long the seller is established that all potential buyers should check the negative and the neutrals.
This is especially difficult with sellers who receive a lot a feedback. The percentage of positive feedback will show high because of the amount they receive.

Hi all firstly if you find this guide usefull please vote on it Thanks.
Well it a couple of days now until Royal Mail change there price policy and i feel Ebayers will be hit hard.
As im sure you know at the minute you pay purely on weight of your item well as from 21/08/2006 you will have to pay for the weight but also the size.
One of the obvious things that will change is the cost of postingDVD's and CD.s, at the minute you can send a DVD for about

Build up your DVD collection with cheap DVDs
I have been using eBay over the past couple of years to slowly build up my DVD collection. Its a source of good second hand DVDs and as long as your shrewd and keep an eye out for the bargains you can amass quite a large collection for a fraction of the retail price.
The following tips should help you find cheap DVDs and build up your collection.
Buy older DVDsYou should be able to pick up older DVDs (one or two years old) for 99p or less.
Newer DVDs are more expensiveNew DVDs are generally more expensive and you will have to pay a lot nearer the retail price. Watch out for cheap asian imports and pirated DVDs. In general if a new DVD is very cheap and seems too good to be true, it probably is too goo to be true. (For more information on cheap asian imports and pirated DVDs search the other guides on eBay.)
Buy box setsBox sets are generally cheaper when bought second hand. You can buy them for a fraction of the price they cost on the high street. Personally I would only buy items offered at auction and I tend to shy away from the buy-it-now DVD box sets. The reason is that I once bought a quite expensive box set on eBay, only to discover on delivery that it came directly from an online shopping site that had a special offer on! I paid the seller for delivery when it cost them nothing! I chalked this up to experience and will not fall for this again. I advise you to be vigilant and check the prices at online shopping sites before you bid. If the eBay price (including postage) is cheaper, you are getting a bargain, if not try to find a cheaper seller. I am not suggesting all sellers of buy-it now DVD boxsets do this but it does no harm to check prices.
Check the price for a new DVDOnline shopping sites change the prices of their DVDs all the time. As a DVD becomes less popular the price will reduce and there are quite often boxsets and older DVDs on special offer. These sites also offer free postage for items whose value is over a minimum price. Check the price you are considering paying for the item against the price of the item from an online shopping site. Remember to include the postage in both calculations. If the eBay price is cheaper make a bid, if not, try to find a cheaper seller.
Be patientA lot of DVDs are sold on eBay. If your after a particular DVD there will be multiple copies of it for sale. The prices will vary and get higher as the end of the auction draws near. Decide the price you want to pay and stick to it. If you get outbid try bidding on another item. Eventually you will be successful. Most of the bids tend to occur on the last day of the auction in the final few hours.
Check for cheap items with no bids that are about to endSearch for items priced

How to get a good sale for your item
I find that the secret to a good sale is take plenty of good quality photographs. I take all my photos with natural daylight so you can see all the detail. People like to see what they are buying and the more photos you have the better idea they have of what it is you are selling....a blurred, dark photo is an immediate put-off. If you can't be bothered to do a good auction, then why should someone spend their hard earned cash with you. If it is hard to photograph - like black items, then try to describe it as best you can - "a black party top - size 12"could be anything !!!

Prometeia Mach II GT Phase Change Cooler Review
If you regularly read such resources as this one then you have probably seen a lot of overclocks and a lot of experimental equipment. The internet is filled with this new found craze and while overclocking has been with us since the first Personal Computers, it's popularity has increased dramatically over the last few years. Maybe breaking the Gigahertz barrier has installed a new found love of speed into the average consumer as it seems even those with only a basic computing knowledge have tried to find the limits of their CPU's speed. But even the aforementioned user who lacks a rounded understanding of PC fundamentals realizes that overclocking comes at a price and that of course is heat. The faster your CPU is running, the hotter it becomes particularly if you are defying manufactures' recommendations and push the performance levels to the limit. Many have opted for bigger heatsinks and faster fans in their quest for stability and performance while some have taken the more extreme route of water-cooling or even chemical cooling. Water-cooling kits are becoming increasingly mainstream as they offer a relatively easy route to temperature satiability and the prices of such kits have dropped dramatically. But what if you hunger for better cooling but don't have access to the more exotic chemicals it can sometimes take to chill that CPU? Enter Chip-Con with their innovative Prometeia system, a case that refrigerates your CPU for those huge overclocks? Sounds very promising indeed but Chip-Con insist this performance doesn't require a rocket scientist to set it up, sounds even better. Let's see what the Prometeia is all about and whether this is one product overclocking fans should really own...This isn't advanced science class but this also isn't play-group; I'll attempt to run the middle ground here. I'll explain the basic idea behind such systems and how it works in the real world but don't expect me to pass any exams! What we should be interested in here is the practical 'real world' applications of such a system and what it can bring to the overclocker. In order to conceptulize the process you may wish to view this short animation of the process. The layout may be slightly different but the principles remain unchanged.Into the microfreezer a refrigerant is pumped, upon evaporation, and thus now containing a lot more energy as particles are now in a vapor state, the vapor is sucked into the part labeled 'compressor'. The vapor is indeed compressed in a manner of speaking which we can suggest is how they arrived at the name. This compressed vapor is forced toward the condenser who's job it is to remove some of the energy present. The refrigerant is then moved into a small capillary tube thus re-increasing the energy contained within the refrigerant, it's now very close to starting the process again as it's starting to once more evaporate. When the journey is complete it will have reached the CPU again which provides the particles with more energy from it's heat emissions and thus we end up with vapor again. But that explains a powered state, what about startup? In theory the relative pressure throughout the system is constant at startup i.e.. It's all the same. When the coolant is first being sucked out of the microfreezer pressure is built by the condenser. It's also important to note that there is a small amount of oil present in the system, we shall see why below. At startup the system waits for the pressure to build in the condenser, this part is cooled by a powerful fan, and when enough pressure is obtained the drop of oil falls back into the evaporator and the vapor is pushed to the microfreezer As we can see from the image above the natural process of gravity ensures the oil can always end up in the evaporater as doesn't reach the microfreezerThat is how it's visualized in my head and I hope I have at least offered a gateway to a better understanding of the process. Many resources exist all over our beloved 'net so those of you who wish to obtain more information on the subject will no doubt be able to find it within a few minutes of searching. It looks hard, it looks complex, it looks totally unnecessary! All things I'm sure you have thought about systems like this one, I know, I thought it too. But having used this system for a few weeks now it would be hard to turn away from obvious performance gain and piece of mind it gives to you. Imagine never having to worry about heat again, or indeed always knowing you can push your CPU that little bit extra. It's a real luxury to have such piece of mind, something we don't always have a great deal of in this strangely unreliable industry. It's save to say I recommend this system, heck.. It's hard to say just how much I like it.I would be remiss if I didn't report on the support offered by Steen and his team throughout this review. In my eyes this is a huge factor that will affect all future purchase decisions. The support I and many others have received from Chip-Con has been nothing short of amazing. Replies to emails usually came within a few hours at the most and even very late at night. The first initial problem I had was that half of the instruction book had been lost somewhere in transit, the support team were exceptional emailing me various versions of the document and sending a hard copy. They also flew a new CPU kit to England when they knew I was using a TH7II which has a few ill placed capacitors. In fact they identified the problem before I had even opened the unit. Also I have yet to focus on the noise levels of this system, primarily because there are none! Throw those Delta's away because the only real noise is at startup where the main unit's fan is most active. Thankfully Prometeia's fan is only activated when needed most and will auto adjust to a slower speed when not needed. Even when the fan is rotating at full speed, the noise is a lot quieter than a standard case with three case fans. There is a whine from fans at times but it's never intrusive. I'm very impressed at just how quiet this system really is.It's an amazing system but as with most things there are negatives. Firstly that diabolical case, poorly constructed and very hard to manipulate, I would really expect a higher quality housing solution for such a high end device. As I noted before, it's rather easy to change it but should we have to? I'm not so sure. Secondly the boot time will be a problem for people who turn on their PC and expect it to run it for a few minutes only to check emails or suchlike before working. It does take over five minutes to boot but as I also noted previously, you rapidly become used to this and it isn't a problem after a few days. Such amazing cooling does have to have downsides after all. I feel while competitive with similar units, the price will be an obstacle for some. It's an expensive piece of equipment without doubt. If we are to consider what you receive for your money, the price seems almost fair and its more reasonably priced than a Vapochill for example. Those negatives don't really take the shine of such an amazing unit though, there is little that can beat the Prometeia for sheer performance and overclocking fun. It is to Chip-Con's credit they have produced such an amazing unit and one that will last you a long time. Couple that with their superb support and we have a product more worthy of a 'Power Buyer' award than anything I have seen previously. Prometeia will transform your overclocking world, the faint hearted need not apply, those with more performance vigor will revel in this great system.Pros: - 1. A CPU that will never reach above minus ten degrees!2. Ease of installation of the CPU unit3. Very low noise levels4. A well supported product.Cons:-1. Long boot times.2. A very poor case.3. Relatively expensive
